Meet us at FIAT/IFTA 2011

The 2011 FIAT/IFTA World Conference runs from September 28th to October 2nd and is hosted by RAI – Radiotelevisione Italiana in the beautiful city of Torino. The main topic of the conference programme this year is:

The Audiovisual Archive Reinvented – Where are you on the time line? – Get a grip on the Future!

We think that we not only can contribute to the discussion but also are able to present the ON:meedi:a ecosystem answers and show how TV archives can create new ideas, new markets and new products. Bring your requirements on the table and talk to us during the poster session! We will be there to listen and on-the-fly prototype a solution with ON:meedi:a.

Won’t be attending the FIAT/IFTA conference this year? Contact us for an appointment at your earliest convenience.

Amsterdam during IBC is the place to be!

IBC is a very important event for the whole media and broadcasting industry. This year we had the opportunity to meet other players and to look out on strategic collaborations and OEM’s to integrate ON:meedi:a services in their offerings. Especially the powerful media indexing backend of ON:meedi:a raised great interest and we are looking forward to closer integration with third-party systems.

Want to see how the ON:meedi:a ecosystem modules can be part of your technology landscape too? Contact us for a first talk.

Inspiring IASA 2011

Many thanks to the organisers! IASA 2011 was a very interesting conference where we had the opportunity to hear the issues audiovisual archives are facing and present how ON:meedi:a tackles them. Our poster session went very well and we are looking forward to more inspiring conversations in the future.

Want to see how ON:meedi:a supports you in adding value to your archive? Engaging users with your content? Meet us live at one of the events we are attending or contact us here.

Tasuba – project collaboration

Views of the Tasuba showcase interface

Tasuba is a content sharing showcase of ON:meedi:a displaying and managing information about persons, events, workshops and media inside a project collaboration. Media are shared, uploaded and viewed among the Tasuba team members.

The back-end of ON:meedi:a allows for content-based indexing modules that can be composed into pipelines and workflows. With Tasuba repository content is exploited with the help of flexible user interfaces which have been authored to provide the required functionality. ON:meedi:a paves so the way for a multimedia information management platform that is more flexible, adaptable and customisable than current repository software.

Music collections

ON:meedi:a helps open up audio content e.g. of Mediterranean traditional music to a wider audience. An archive makes available a collection as an ON:meedi:a repository and allows the authoring of a “playlist functionality” so that users can listen to the audio assets and learn about the story of a traditional song.

All is prepared with simple drag-and-drop actions inside the ON:meedi:a authoring system. Users can collaboratively upload albums or tracks, edit or comment the previously created entries and create faceted views on the collection.

Meet us at the IASA, Frankfurt

Meet us at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 3rd to 8th, where we will showcase ON:meedi:a! Visit our poster session on September 5th in “Room DNB – Oval office” between 03:00 and 04:00 pm to learn more on:

Flexible management and publishing of audiovisual media

We will show there how ON:meedi:a – the media ecosystem, where media lives – provides ground‐breaking, interactive applications and services that empower content owners and collection holders in aggregating, developing, and hosting creative content to interact smoothly with multimedia data using advanced mixed multimedia annotation, indexing, search and retrieval tools, and navigation interfaces. These services are enabled by a publishing environment that exploits repository content by the authoring of flexible user interfaces, whereby each interface element can be fully configured regarding its layout, the data element it represents, and the functionality it provides.

Contact us to see a live demo of ON:meedi:a at Frankfurt, we are happy to meet you there!

Media Production

This showcase presents the application of the ON:meedi:a platform from the production team of a weekly TV programme on historic events. It highlights how users with different roles e.g. production manager, production team, archivists, general public, interact from their own perspective in the same production project with the video and audio materials stored in the same repository.

The search-engine makes use of both meta-data and semantic data intrinsic to the materials, which are annotated at the segment level. The interaction of the general public with the ON:meedi:a platform also highlights possible features and functionalities related to generating publicly available documentary listings.
